Ministry spotlight - Tyson House

This week's ministry spotlight focuses on Tyson House, the Lutheran and Episcopal campus ministry at the University of Tennessee. Tyson House is located off Cumberland Avenue at 824 Melrose Place.

According to its Web site,

We are seekers and dwellers, doubters and disciples inviting students into an authentic community that is centered on God’s continual transformation in our lives through the study of scripture, the breaking of bread, and prayer.

We provide a shelter and refuge for students, faculty, and staff, from which we are strengthened to practice the reconciling love of Christ in the UT community, Knoxville, and the world.

Tyson House offers a variety of programs including:
  • A weekly Worship service each Sunday evening at 6:04 p.m. This service is a blend of Episcopal and Lutheran tradition. It offers communion every week.

  • Bible Study - every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. This study is based on previous Sunday readings.

  • "TRANSFORMED" - A new Bible study this semester, "TRANSFORMED" is a student led meeting where students engage in fellowship, mission, and prayer. "TRANSFORMED" meets every Thursday at 7 p.m.
